1. A member should attend / make up at least 60% of his club’s regular meetings in each half of the year i.e. in six months he should have attended / made up at least 14 meetings out of approximately 24.
2. A member shall be counted as attending a regular meeting if he is present for at least 60% of the meeting i.e. till about 2:10 pm for the Rotary Club of Calcutta.
3. A member should attend at least 30% of his own club's regular meetings in each half of the year i.e. in six months at least 7 meeting in his own club.
4. Unless otherwise excused by the board for good and sufficient reason, a member who fails to attend or make up four consecutive regular meetings, shall be informed by the board that the member's non-attendance may be considered as a request to terminate his membership in this club.
   Thereafter, the board, by a majority vote, may terminate the member's membership.

A member who is unable to attend a regular weekly meeting of his club can also ‘make-up’ for an absence by attending a meeting of any of the following, held within a period of 14 days before or 14 days after the regular weekly meeting he may have missed. (For attendance credit, the member must personally notify the club secretary in writing about these make-ups mentioning the dates of regular weekly meetings he has missed.)

1. Attends at least 60% of the regular meeting of another club or of a provisional club; or 

2. Is present at the usual time and place of a regular meeting of another club for the purpose of attending such meeting, but finds that club is not meeting at that time or place; or

3. Attends a regular meeting of a Rotaract or Interact club or Rotary Community Corps or of a provisional Rotaract or Interact club or Rotary Community Corps; or attends

4. A Rotary district conference, a Rotary district assembly, or

5. Any district committee meeting held by direction of the district governor, or

6. A regularly announced intercity meeting of Rotary clubs, or

7. Attends a club board meeting or

8. If authorized by the board, a meeting of a service committee to which the member is assigned or

9. Engaged in Rotary business duly authorized by the board which precludes attendance at the meeting or

10. Attends and participates in a Board approved club service project or a club-sponsored community event or an approved meeting. (Limited to a maximum of two (2) make-up credits in each month and twelve (12) per Rotary year July 1 to June 30.
    A list of such approved events would be announced in the Chaka from time to time.

11. When a member is outside the member's country of residence for more than fourteen (14) days, the time restriction shall not be imposed so that the member may attend meetings in another country at any time during the travel period, and each such attendance shall count as a valid make-up for any regular meeting missed during the member's time abroad.

12. Finally, he can also make-up his attendance through the Internet by visiting the eRotaryClubOne  website at www.rotaryeclubone.org (Limited to once a month).

Rule

A member can makeup his attendance by attending a meeting of another Rotary club either 14 days before or 14 days after the meeting of his own club that he has missed.

Print out your attendance card and send it to your club secretary.
Please use this facility with discretion.

A member's absence shall be excused if

1. He falls under the "85" rule i.e. the aggregate of the member's years of age and years of membership in one or more clubs is 85 years or more and the member has notified the club secretary in writing of the member's desire to be excused from attendance and the board has approved.
2. The board may excuse a member's absence for reasons which it considers to be good and sufficient.
